Elixir of Life

This concoction is  a potent, rich blend of antiviral, anti-inflammatory and detoxifying foods.  Tangy lemons full of Vitamin C, combined with the vampire and virus scaring garlic form a synergistic formulation with the famous ginger and turmeric inflammatory dampeners. A tablespoon a day keep most things at bay!

This recipe is cooked for 10 minutes to reduce any sensitivity and irritation to the lemon peel and garlic.

  • 300g whole lemons
  • 300g fresh turmeric root
  • 300g fresh garlic
  • 300g fresh ginger root
  • 100ml apple cider vinegar
  • 4 tablespoons black strap molasses

Peel the turmeric and ginger roots. Chop them into 2cm pieces. Cut the lemons, remove the seeds but keep the skin on.

Boil the concoction in 2 litres of water of boiling water for 10 minutes.

At this stage, take it off the boil and add 100ml of apple cider vinegar.

Sweeteners such as black strap molasses or honey can be added to taste.

Pour the mix into a blender. Blend till it resembles a paste.

Now bottle and refrigerate. This can be kept for 6 months.

This feeds a village, so just cut down the proportions based on what you need.
